MANILA, Philippines — Actress Chie Filomeno has called on the public to stop associating the Lhuillier family with her rumored breakup with fellow actor Jake Cuenca. Addressing the speculation through an Instagram story, Filomeno expressed her desire to keep both her past relationship and the family separate from the ongoing rumors.

"I’ve been reading and hearing a lot these past few days and I ask that my past relationship, my present life, and the Lhuillier family be left out of this issue," she stated. "They don’t deserve to be dragged into something that has nothing to do with them."

She further requested privacy, saying, "No further statements will be made at this time. I kindly ask that people refrain from speculation or intrusions into my private affairs. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation."

In a subsequent post, Filomeno reiterated her plea for privacy, writing, "I may be a public figure, but I am not public property. I ask that my private life remain private."

Earlier this week, Chie was linked to businessman Matthew Lhuillier after endorsing his Bisaya Brew beer on social media. This development coincided with her public fallout with Jake Cuenca, as the two unfollowed each other on Instagram shortly after.

Reacting to the intrusion into her personal life, Filomeno shared a past carousel post highlighting social issues, adding, "I really don’t get why people meddle with someone else’s private life when there are more pressing matters, tulad po ng flood control, opo diba?" accompanied by a thumbs-up emoji.
