Ukraine Reports Heavy Overnight Russian Drone and Missile Attacks Resulting in Civilian Casualties
Patricia Gomez
Ukraine's Foreign Minister, Andrii Sybiha, announced on Sunday that Russian forces launched "hundreds of drones and missiles" during overnight strikes across the country. Ukrainian officials confirmed that at least nine people were injured in the attacks, which also resulted in significant destruction to residential buildings and caused civilian casualties.
On the social media platform X, Sybiha emphasized the urgent need to increase the consequences for Russia to prevent further escalation, stating, "We must maximise the cost of further escalation for Russia."
The sustained bombardment marks a continued intensification of hostilities as Ukraine faces mounting pressure from Russian military assaults targeting both strategic and civilian locations. The government's call for heightened responses reflects growing concern over the humanitarian impact and broader security threats posed by these attacks.
