MANILA, Philippines – Fans of the acclaimed Broadway musical Hamilton can experience the revolutionary production on the big screen throughout the Philippines starting October 1. For the first time, Walt Disney Studios is bringing the filmed performance of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Tony Award- and Pulitzer Prize-winning masterpiece to cinemas nationwide. This special screening, which commemorates the show’s 10th anniversary, will be available for one week only.

Cinemagoers in Metro Manila and Luzon can watch Hamilton at key locations including Ayala Malls Glorietta 4, Manila Bay, Trinoma, and Bonifacio High Street. The musical will also be featured in numerous SM Cinemas such as Mall of Asia, Megamall, North EDSA, Aura Premier, Fairview, Bacoor, BF Parañaque, Bicutan, Centerpoint, Clark, Dasmariñas, East Ortigas, Grand Central, Marikina, Puerto Princesa, and Southmall, alongside screenings at S Maison and The Podium. Robinsons Malls will join the lineup with showings at Antipolo, Galleria, Magnolia, Manila, and Opus.

Beyond Luzon, viewers in the Visayas and Mindanao regions can catch the film at Ayala Malls Capitol Central, Central Bloc, Centrio, Festive Walk Iloilo, and Nustar. SM Cinemas in Visayas and Mindanao, including SM Seaside, CDO, Iloilo, JMall Cebu, Lanang, and Ormoc, will also host screenings. Additional venues include Power Plant Mall, Shangri-La Red Carpet, Uptown Mall Taguig, Century City Mall, Cinema ‘76, Festival Mall, Fisher Mall QC, Gateway Cineplex, Newport, and Vista Mall Evia.

The recorded performance originates from the 2016 live Broadway show at the Richard Rodgers Theatre, starring Lin-Manuel Miranda as Alexander Hamilton, Leslie Odom Jr. as Aaron Burr, and Phillipa Soo as Eliza Hamilton. Director and producer Thomas Kail emphasized the intent behind capturing the essence of being in the theater during the original run, stating, "When we filmed Hamilton, we wanted to try to capture the feeling of being in the Richard Rodgers Theatre during the first year on Broadway. And we're thrilled that audiences will now have the opportunity to experience it on the big screen."

Included in the film is an exclusive prologue titled "Reuniting the Revolution," featuring new interviews with the original cast and creators reflecting on Hamilton's impact on their lives and careers.

Based on Ron Chernow's biography Alexander Hamilton, the musical chronicles the life of the American founding father through a dynamic score blending hip-hop, jazz, R&B, and traditional Broadway styles—composed and performed in the lead role by Miranda himself.

Hamilton was also staged locally in 2023 at The Theatre at Solaire in Parañaque City, with Jason Arrow portraying Alexander Hamilton and Rachelle Ann Go as Eliza Hamilton. The filmed version premiered earlier this month in the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico, with upcoming releases scheduled for the United Kingdom and Ireland on September 26, followed by Australia and New Zealand on November 13.
