MANILA – The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has forecast predominantly warm and humid conditions throughout much of the country on Monday, attributed to a temporary pause in the monsoon pattern.
Forecaster Daniel James Villamil explained, "Due to the monsoon break, most areas will experience warm and humid weather. Isolated rain showers and localized thunderstorms remain possible."
The southwest monsoon, locally known as "habagat," will continue to influence extreme northern Luzon, bringing occasional rain showers and thunderstorms to the Batanes and Babuyan Islands. Meanwhile, scattered rain and thunderstorms are expected elsewhere due to localized weather disturbances.
Villamil also noted that a low-pressure area (LPA) located approximately 1,455 kilometers east of Eastern Visayas remains outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and currently does not affect the country. "The LPA has a very low chance of developing into a tropical cyclone within the next 24 hours," he added.
Across the archipelago, light to moderate winds and slight to moderate sea conditions are forecasted, ensuring generally stable weather for residents and travelers.
