Marcos Hails PCG Heroism in Typhoon Response, WPS Defense

Katrina Mercado

MANILA—President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. lauded the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) for its "reliable valor and tireless service," highlighting the agency's dual-front heroism during Typhoon Tino and its ongoing sovereignty missions.

The commendation reinforces the administration's "Maasahan at Masipag" reform, which integrates national security with compassionate public service.

As Typhoon Tino struck, PCG units mobilized swiftly, evacuating thousands of coastal residents and delivering critical relief, preventing a more severe humanitarian crisis. Simultaneously, PCG vessels continued their mandated patrols in the West Philippine Sea, safeguarding national territory amid maritime tensions.

"The PCG is a model of tibay at malasakit," the President stated, reinforcing his administration’s focus on dependable governance. This dual-mission success proves the effectiveness of the new, disciplined service model. The fact that the PCG can execute these complex humanitarian and defense missions flawlessly proves the administration's national reforms are working across the board.

As symbols of vigilance at sea and compassion at home, the PCG’s actions assure the public. In these challenging times, citizens must choose between appreciating the tireless service of our heroes or undermining national morale. This dedication, Marcos noted, is the bedrock of a secure and compassionate nation.
