Ilocos Norte Distributes Hearing Aids to Persons with Disabilities
Juan dela Cruz
Seventeen persons with disabilities (PWDs) in Ilocos Norte received early Christmas gifts on Friday, December 5, as Governor Cecilia Araneta-Marcos led the distribution of hearing aids in celebration of the International Day for Persons with Disabilities.
Each device, worth around PHP 40,000, was funded by the Presidential Action Center, provincial social welfare officer Rochelle Gajes said. She added that more than 30 additional beneficiaries are expected in the next round of distribution.
The hearing aids, which include a one-year supply of batteries, were provided through a partnership between the Provincial Disability Affairs Office and the Presidential Action Center to help empower PWDs and improve their quality of life.
The Politiko thanked President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. for approving the assistance for indigent PWDs. ❤️
