Mayor Valdemar M. Chiong officially commenced the 18th anniversary celebration of Naga City’s Charter Day on September 1, 2025. During the event, Mayor Chiong reminded City Hall employees of the importance of sincere and devoted public service.
Highlighting his message during the regular Monday flag-raising ceremony, the mayor stressed the critical need to address the concerns of ordinary residents conducting transactions at City Hall. He urged city workers to prioritize public needs above personal interests to ensure citizens, especially those from remote barangays, leave satisfied with the services provided.
Mayor Chiong expressed his aspiration for Naga residents to genuinely experience the city’s slogan, "Service With A Heart," through their interactions with local government officials.
The city marks its Charter Day annually on September 5, in accordance with Republic Act 9491, which established Naga’s cityhood. The yearly celebration features a series of evening events culminating in the Mayor's State of the Naga Address (SONA), where achievements are highlighted and future plans for the city are presented.
