Former IBF super flyweight world champion Jerwin Ancajas is scheduled to return to the United States for an eight-round match against Ruben Casero on August 3, 2025, Philippine time. The bout will take place at Thunder Studios in Long Beach, California.
This appearance marks Ancajas's first fight in the U.S. since his 2023 victory over Wilner Sotto, where he secured a fifth-round technical knockout in Minneapolis. Ancajas held the IBF super flyweight title from 2016 until 2022, frequently defending it on American soil. Notably, he fought Fernando Daniel Martinez twice in 2022 as part of his title defenses.
Following the loss of his title in 2022, Ancajas has won three of his five subsequent fights. Now 33 years old, he is targeting a move up to the super bantamweight division with aspirations of capturing another world championship.
Ancajas's return to the U.S. ring is highly anticipated as he looks to reestablish himself among the top contenders in his new weight class.
